MST 2023 Events Surplus Distribution.

In 2019, MST passed a motion to distribute any excess remaining in the Events account to clubs based on a points system for participation and pool deck support. This system is seen as a good incentive to encourage and recognise participation and pool deck help.

The distribution for 2020 was $1,943 and 2021 $2,552, however for 2022 the excess was only $197 therefore no meaningful distribution could be made.

 The 2023 MST Championship series events generated a loss of approximately $1100 and as such would not qualify for a distribution. However, as the 2023 National Championships generated a substantial surplus, the Branch Executive considered an allocation of some of that surplus for distribution to clubs. The distribution would be based on the points system in place. An amount of $2,500 would be in line with past distributions.

Based on an amount of $2,500 and a draft total of 852 points this would equal $2.93 per point, rounded to the nearest dollar.

 The above was discussed at the January MST Branch Management meeting, agreed in principle, and ratified through online voting.

 The return to clubs will be made available in the next few weeks.
